Space Heater Gallery is pleased to present Doctrine—an exhibition of new work by Brooklyn based artist Eric Yevak. Doctrine features a new series of large scale paintings that combine digital and traditional painting techniques. Yevak uses art-historical conventions of pattern making shoved through a post (analogue) painting filter. The end result is a heavily layered body of work that radiates a distorted and latent waking dream state, an aesthetic mantra that references sexuality and personal religious ritual. The inherent visual seductiveness, along with the conciseness of the exhibition, further complicates the reception of this new body of work creating manifold layers of meaning.
